Happy tails! - Holly H
We're so blessed to be part of the Cleo Bay Subaru family in Killeen, TX! Our rescue was chosen to receive the Subaru Loves Pets grant for 2025 which allowed us to help so many pets in need. We had a pup with a heart condition, two that required amputations, and one that needed entropion surgery. Without the support of our friends at Subaru, we couldn't have helped these pups. We also collaborated with our local shelter in October to ensure 7 dogs adopted from the shelter were spayed/neutered. Our friends at Cleo Bay Subaru spent quality time with several of our pups to help them get adopted. The "New Dog Parent" gift boxes were a HUGE hit too with families who adopted from our rescue and the shelter. We very much appreciate everything Cleo Bay Subaru has done for us and our sweet rescue pups. They're truly some of the biggest pet supporters we've met. One of their employees even adopted our sweet Chihuahua, Philip!
Trees for Earth Day - Ray M
Many thanks to Cleo Bay Subaru for giving away trees for Subaru Loves the Earth. I was contacted by the dealership to receive a tree and was reserved one immediately! We lost a beautiful Oak tree in spring storms last year and look forward to the shade and beautiful fall color the Shumard Oak we received will bring to our property in place of that tree. Making trees available to the community to provide shade and aesthetic appeal is a great concept. My wife and I believe in and support the effort to improve and protect the environment and our planet. We appreciate Cleo Bay Subaru's contribution and ongoing effort to do the same. Thanks again to Cleo Bay Subaru and the Arbor Day Foundation for making this possible.
Healing Ross's Broken Heart - Holly H
Our good boy Ross was born with a severe heart murmur that could only be fixed with a balloon valvoplasty through Texas A&M. We're a very small rescue so without the help of Cleo Bay Subaru, and all our wonderful friends there, we would have struggled to afford his medical care and continue to save lives in Texas. We're happy to say the procedure went great and Ross is expected to live a normal life! We just had to visit our friends to thank them for everything they did for Ross and continue to do for our rescue. We wanted to make sure they saw him one last time before he was adopted by his forever family! He was thrilled to greet everyone and chow down on his favorite treats. We're so grateful for our partnership with Cleo Bay Subaru and the Subaru Loves Pets program! Thank you for helping us heal Ross's broken heart!
Cleo Bay Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Shellee B
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Killeen, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Cleo Bay Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Cleo Bay Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/18/2025, Cleo Bay Subaru donated 300 coats to Families In Crisis, Inc.. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Cleo Bay Subarus generous donation through the Share the Love event will have a direct and lasting impact on Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas. Their support helps ensure our programs remain accessible to thousands of youth across more than 30 club locations throughout Central Texasproviding safe, enriching spaces where kids can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. This contribution allows us to continue offering critical services like homework help, leadership development, healthy lifestyle programs, and mental wellness support. With over 3,200 young people walking through our doors each day, Cleo Bay Subarus investment helps us meet the growing needs of our community and empowers the next generation to thrive.
Arbor Day Tree Event - Rylie R
Thank you so much for our Arbor Day Tree, we have been wanting to plant a tree in our yard for so long now but never got around to it! Also, a big thank you to the Cleo Bay employees who put this event together. The handmade cookies, lollipops, and the wildflower seeds we got to share with our kids helped to get them excited about helping keep our world beautiful and thriving!

I love that Subaru partnered with The Arbor Day Foundation to provide free trees for our area. When I told a friend about she said, I wish Honda would do something like this!. So, thank you very much the tree I will be adding to my yard. This makes 5 trees for my yard, which only came with 1.

Joey got a new wheelchair thanks to Cleo Bay Subaru! - Holly H
We partnered with Cleo Bay Subaru this year for Subaru Loves Pets and they truly knocked it out of the park for our rescue pups! They donated bags of food, treats, toys and supplies but really helped us out by donating a new wheelchair for our special needs pup, Joey! Joey had outgrown his old wheelchair but thanks to the generosity of our new friends at Cleo Bay Subaru, he got a wheelchair that should last him many years now! Joey was so excited to show off his new wheels when we stopped by to thank everyone for supporting our mission to help pets in need. We can't thank Cleo Bay Subaru enough for all they've done to help our rescue pets!
Cleo Bay Subaru helped our rescue! - Holly H
Our rescue, Happy Tails Ranch Rescue, was blessed with a Subaru Loves Pets grant that helped us provide necessary vet care to our rescue pets! They also donated food, treats and much needed supplies! We're so grateful for the opportunity to work with this incredibly thoughtful group. Our disabled pup, Joey, loved meeting all the employees and posing for some pics with the cars. We also used the grant to work with our local shelter in Copperas Cove to host an adoption event, sponsor the shelter pets' spay/neuter, and promote the shelter pets on social media. Three pets were adopted as a result of the event and we're able to pull one under our rescue that's in need of surgery for a cherry eye. This was all possible thanks to the generosity of Cleo Bay Subaru! Thank you for everything you do for the community and pets in need!

Thanks to Cleo Bay Subaru, the month of October was one of the best weve had all year.. With the help of their amazing team they have helped to restore our faith in our fellow neighbors and have donated copious amounts of time and effort and worked so hard to be able to show case and celebrate Poundpup and Friends Initiative, giving us publicity we would never have seen otherwise. Weve be able to place 7 dogs in their brand new forever home this month all with the help of the amazing Subaru Loves Pets event and we couldnt be more grateful. The monetary donations will help further our mission and the donated pet supplies will help tremendously with the long months ahead. Their generosity has shown us that even our small drop in the ocean of compassion makes a difference when we work together. Thank you Cleo Bay Subaru of Killen! Cleo Bay Subaru supports the Boys & Girls of Central Texas - Isabel H - isabel h
For 59 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas has consistently provided programs and services that empower the young minds of our local youth. When the pandemic changed life as we know it in 2020, our Clubs took a hard hit but with community support and adaptive/creative team we persevered without having to close our Blue Doors. Currently, our Clubs support 13,000 Club members each year within 21 Greater Killeen locations. 76% of low-income Club members ages 12-18 who attend the Club regularly report receiving mostly As and Bs, compared to 67% of their peers nationally? Cleo Bay Subarus partnership with our Annual Pull For Youth fundraising event provided Annual Membership fees for 100 of our Club member needing scholarships. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a community to rally behind and empower Great Futures of our Central Texas Youth. Thank you Cleo Bay Subaru for rallying with us and caring about our kids as much as we do!

Our school, Reeces Creek Elementary School, is this years recipient of the Cleo Bay Subarus Subaru Loves Learning® initiative! On September 27, 2023, ten of our teachers unexpectedly received the purple boxes! What a day it was, excited teachers and students cheering when our principal Mrs. Church, other staff members from the Leadership Team at Reeces Creek ES, and several employees from Cleo Bay Subaru walked into their classrooms! Teachers received a credit to buy supplies for their classroom from AdoptAClassroom.org! Our teachers are blessed to have funding to buy what they need for their classroom! Thank you Cleo Bay Subaru! Cleo Bay Subaru Spreading Love, Hope, and Warmth - Brenda B
On Friday, June 23rd the Cleo Bay Subaru team spread love, hope and warmth to cancer patients bydelivering warm blankets, patient care kits, and messages of hope cards to Texas Oncology Harker Heights patients. Hospitals are generally very cold, and when patients are going through chemo treatments they can be at the hospital for a long period of time, these generous comforting gifts help cancer patients know that their local community cares and supports them through their cancer journey. A huge thanks to the Cleo Bay Subaru team and the Texas Oncology Team for supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® LLS mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Wreaths for Vets - Cyd W
Thank you Cleo Bay Subaru for selecting Friends of Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery dba Wreaths for Vets as your local charity for the Subaru Share the Love® Event. Our organization is funded 100% from donations and fundraising and has only volunteers - no paid staff. We exist solely to see that a wreath is placed at every gravesite in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery and Columbarium in Killeen. We started when there were less than 400 gravesites and now service almost 13,000. The cemetery will grow to a maximum of 50,000 grave sites and we are committed to servicing them all. We do this to honor those who served as well as their family members who also sacrificed. Your generous support of our mission is greatly appreciated. Not only by our committee, but by the families and friends of those who rest there. People come by the thousands from all surrounding communities to help prepare and lay the wreaths each year. The outpouring of community pride and gratitude is overwhelming. Your donation will help us to continue our mission as the cemetery grows by 1,000 - 1,200 each year. Cleo Bay Subaru Supports Killeen Nonprofit - Suzanne A
Cleo Bay has been a multi year supporter of Families In Crisis, Inc. Cleo Bay recently provided our organization with 1,440 pairs of socks for residents at our homeless shelter, Friends In Crisis, and our family violence shelter. Socks are such a critical item for our vulnerable residents, who often have little more than the clothes on their backs. Thank you, Cleo Bay Subaru, for being such an outstanding community partner and for caring about the people we serve!

Here at Reece's Creek Elementary we were absolutely thrilled to learn that we were selected as the school to receive the school supply donations in September this year!! Not only did our wonderful kids benefit with the flood of extra supplies but our teachers were relieved to not have to spend near as much of their own money to supply their classrooms. Cleo Bay Subaru Supports Fort Hood Area Habitat - Amber P
Chances are when you think about Habitat for Humanity, you think Jimmy Carter! FHAHFH brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope through housing solutions of homeownership, community development, and home repair. Our affiliate has built 118 homes since 1994; 26 of those homes were built for our Veterans in Temple, TX. We have assisted over 300 families through our Critical Repair Program, and have revitalized 4 neighborhoods through our Hammering with Purpose Program. We build homes because they are essential building blocks for families and communities. We repair homes because our goal is to provide sustainable living conditions where people can continue aging in place. Our affiliate is not federally funded, nor do we receive funds from Habitat for Humanity International. Our Homeownership Program is funded through our ReStore sales, community partnerships, fundraisers, and individual donations. The funds raised from Subarus Share the Love Event will be allocated toward one of our nineteen upcoming home builds. Due to COVID-19 barriers, labor/material shortages, and fluctuating construction costs over the last year and a half, our build cycle has been critically impacted. We rely heavily on partnerships now more than ever to help us continue moving mission forward. Cleo Bay Subaru has gone above and beyond for our affiliate; they have supported us outside of the Share the Love campaign and have stepped in last minute when weve needed items for other events. Maintaining strong partnerships is how this community will continue to flourish and our affiliate is extremely grateful for their willingness to partner.
Cleo Bay Subaru Supports Local Homeless Shelter - Suzanne A
Cleo Bay Subaru has been a true friend to Friends In Crisis, a 78-bed night shelter program for the homeless operated by Families In Crisis, Inc. in Killeen, Texas. Cleo Bay has graciously provided us with 80 emergency blankets and 200 pairs of socks for the residents at our shelter. These seemingly simple items can make a world of difference for someone who is out on the street and in the elements during the day while we are cleaning the facility and preparing it for the clients to utilize in the evening. We have also distributed some of the blankets to homeless persons who prefer not to seek shelter. Thank you, Cleo Bay Subaru, for being such an outstanding partner and for caring about some of the most vulnerable members of our community!
Begonia's story - Shiloh W
Begonia had a rough start to life. Her scars tell a tale, and at just 4 months old, she was found by a Good Samaritan with injuries consistent with trauma and abuse. The Good Samaritan couldn't afford the care she needed, so she was turned over to the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center. Her injured leg would have required extensive surgery and a long and hard recovery, so the decision was made to instead amputate her leg. Despite a couple of set backs, Begonia recovered and proved herself to be a very good tripod! Begonia attended the Subaru Make A Dogs Day event at Cleo Bay Subaru on October 22, 2021, and was quite the star! There were many questions about her scars and missing leg, but her sweet personality really made people quickly forget that she had anything different about her. She really showed herself to be the ultimate underdog! We are so thankful for Subaru and Cleo Bay Subaru for choosing the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center to partner with, and thanks to the donation of $3,100 from Subaru, we are able to provide life saving care to shelter pets beyond sterilization and vaccinations. Begonia has since been adopted and we hope she has an amazing life with her forever family!
Shelby's story - Shiloh W
Shelby was an older dog who was found in an area where dogs are commonly dumped. She was confused and scared, an had some medical issues that had been left untreated by her former owners. Once she arrived to the shelter, it was discovered that Shelby had heartworms, as well as a tumor that had ruptured on a toe, and a mass on her eyelid. Shelby had a rescue interested in taking her into their organization until she tested positive for heartworms. The shelter decided to go ahead and start heartworm treatment in the hopes it would help her find a home. She had her toe amputated and her eyelid mass removed, and through her whole medical treatment, Shelby was a trooper, always happy to get attention from staff. Shelby attended the #MakeADogsDay at Cleo Bay Subaru in Killen on October 22, 2021 and was able to meet a family who showed interest in her. That family came back to the shelter that evening to adopt Shelby! The best part is that her new dad works at Subaru. We are so thankful for Shelby's happy every after, and that Subaru played a big part in making it happen!

We couldn't be happier to be teamed up with Cleo Bay to help our no kill shelter find great families for the great pets pictured below! Earlier this year our local Families in Crisis Branch received a generous donation from both Subaru of America and Cleo Bay Subaru. The donation of 80 blankets will help our charity give some added comfort to our members of the community in need this winter and holiday season! We greatly appreciate the thought and the time from our friends at Subaru and Cleo Bay Subaru and look forward to working with them in the future!
