Every 3,000–5,000 Miles: The Basics That Matter Most

Even with modern synthetic oils extending change intervals, we recommend bringing your Forester in every 3,000 to 5,000 miles for an oil and filter change. Subaru's horizontally opposed Boxer engine has a unique design that makes clean, properly filled oil especially important for long-term health. During this visit, our team also performs a multi-point inspection, which includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, and windshield wipers. These quick checks catch small problems before they become costly ones.

Every 15,000 Miles: Filters and Fluids

What an outstanding car buying experience. Cleo Bay Subaru far exceeds any of our car buying experiences. What makes Cleo Bay better is their honest customer service which is truly unbelievable. After seeing one of their cars advertised on Auto trader, with extremely low miles and fantastic price, we visited the Cleo Bay website and began researching their inventory and BBB rating. We were impressed by what I saw and called to “feel them out”. With no appointment scheduled and impressed by what I heard, we decided to make the 1 hour drive from Waco to Killeen to see their operation for ourselves. We were welcomed by Mark Timm as soon as we pulled up. We found a very professional and clean showroom with some very nice antique automobiles. We knew what we were there to see. The entire Cleo Bay staff is highly knowledgeable about each car in their inventory and never pressures you to buy, which is truly refreshing. Even when it came to the warranty, we felt absolutely no pressure. In fact, we were able to extend the factory bumper-to-bumper warranty due to the vehicle being so new and such low mileage. With our particular purchase, we found their price of the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk to be up to $5000 cheaper than we could find anywhere else --unbelievable! What sealed the deal was the awesome trade-in allowance they offered us on our 2014 Ford Escape Titanium which was more than any other dealer had offered us. I had a great experience here purchasing my Crosstrek with my husband. Both guys that helped us make the decision to buy were very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. They also were not pushy at all regarding our budget and choice to take a couple days to think it over, which I appreciated more than I can express. Mark was our salesman, and Shawn was our finance guy. I had lots of questions , and they answered them all thoroughly. They were also very personable/relatable people that made us feel like they heard our concerns and valued our buying experience. Honestly, everyone that I ran into during our time there was friendly. I enjoyed the genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I took off one star because they did not have any base model Outbacks available to look at (the original car I was considering). I also felt a bit misled regarding the interest rate I would receive. I was under the impression that with my credit score and choice to purchase a new vehicle, my interest rate would be lower than it ended up being.
